Housebuilder helps DIY SOS in Monmouth

Staff from housebuilder David Wilson Homes worked alongside many other local companies, and were quick to answer the DIY SOS call in Monmouth to help a family in need.

The tradesmen, based at the King’s Wood Gate development in Monmouth, turned their attention to helping TV host Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team transform a family home. Their efforts were to help the rehabilitation of Charlotte Fairlie who suffered a devastating stroke after giving birth to twin boys.

The stroke, in December 2014, left Charlotte with extensive brain injuries. The DIY SOS team were called in to build a new two storey extension to the family home, to provide a dedicated physiotherapy room and an extra bedroom for a live in carer.
“We were delighted to be able to play a small part in helping this family,’’ said David Wilson Homes managing director Steve Williams. “The staff have a great attitude towards getting things done and thoroughly enjoyed using their skills to work with the DIY SOS team,” said Steve.
“Everyone was thrilled to see the completed transformation which will hopefully help Charlotte, her husband Rob and the two boys.”
The show airs tonight Wednesday March 29.
